Creativation 2018: New Product Showcase

January 20, 2018

It’s that time of year again- Creativation! Despite the new name- Association for Creative Industries (AFCI)– it’s still the CHA tradeshow in the hearts of many of us old timers.

Creativation Trade Show

Traveling is better with glittery sneakers. They are G by Guess. LOVE them!

I flew in on Friday despite having a massive chest cold. By 4pm, my voice was entirely gone. But even that won’t keep me from attending the events and taking as many photos as possible.

The way they are doing the product showcase this year is an upgrade from last year’s “products stacked in acrylic boxes.” This year each product got their OWN acrylic box. (!) But still, there weren’t tons of people there to talk about their product and they had no room to demo. I still prefer the style with 1-minute verbal presentations followed by tables with live demos. As a result, I just wandered around looking at the boxes trying to figure out what was *Really* new (because I saw some of the same products as last year- come to find out you get TWO years as a “new product.” Umm, okay, I guess.

I dodged a lot of folks just mingling to socialize and scoped out these products that really caught my eye. And as I mentioned- I have no voice left to give you a voice-over, so I just added some captions and left it at that. The upside is that my video is super short!

So let me know which of these products interests YOU- I’ll be roaming the show Saturday and Sunday getting more videos, so I’ll try to circle back around to get more information for you. I’ll also try and post some photos on Instagram, too!

Now… I’m going to try to get an little more sleep and some tea before the day begins!

Thanks for the video. Love the sneaks. Hope you’re feeling better ASAP…Creativation (I prefer CHA) only comes around once a year…such a shame to be feeling “gorppily” (my family’s word for yuckiness) at this special event. Enjoy all the wonderful sights. I was fortunate enough to get to CHA (see how much easier that trips off the tongue?) three years ago. What an amazing time I had. Just overwhelming. I was like a giddy five-year-old. Every crafty person should get to attend just once…like a bucket-list thing. So fun. Please be better soon…and just enjoy. Take LOTS of videos. Thanks for all you do for us.

I agree with your comments about the Showcase. I wish they had room for reps to stand with their case to answer short questions. Lots of neat new products.
