Alcohol Inks on Acetate- Greeting Cards Three Ways!
I am known for falling down rabbit holes- last week I shared a live demo on Periscope on how to use alcohol inks. I subsequently have spent the better part of a week making greeting cards from the lovely acetate (craft plastic) sheets I created during that playtime.
The first part of the video shows you how to get lovely texture on your craft plastic or acetate- without ruining your manicure. And then I move on to showing you how to make the three cards shown above! This is like getting whole card-making class in under 9 minutes!
Now, if you need supplies, I have some handy affiliate links below.

And guys, I just couldn’t stop making cards and tags with alcohol inks!!!
Now, I have a little story about the next few cards made with this technique. A few weeks ago, one of my Periscope/Instagram followers NC_Liz reached out and let me know she was coming into the city for some medical appointments and she’d like to meet me. I also learned that she lives with chronic pain, so I thought it would be fun to meet up and have a little crafty time. I prepped mats, card bases and

I also learned that she lives with chronic pain, so I thought it would be fun to meet up and have a little crafty time. I prepped mats, card bases and cut outs, and then packed up my inks and acetate. I fit everything we needed into a little tote bag.
We proceeded to set up a little spot at Starbucks and got to chat and craft for the better part of three hours!
Here’s the card I made as a sample:
And here are the two cards we made while chatting it up!

She finished a few more as well- and I sent her off with a little goody bag so she could finish up the rest in her hotel room. Just goes to show that you CAN craft on the go, and make new friends in the process! We had such a lovely time and I’m so glad we got to connect.

I do hope you all try out this technique and give it a go- alcohol inks are addictive! And maybe you’ll make a new friend, too. 🙂

Jen, this looks like a very fun technique that I need to try. Loved your tags and cards.
So glad you shared this Jen. I have a drawer full of alcohol inks that I never use- time to give this a go!
How fun to meet anew friend and have that art time together! I met a friend online from Illinois 4 years ago and now we get together at least twice a year! Oh the crafting and arting good times we share!!
Anyway, i am going to watch your video this weekend and use those inks!
All of your pieces are lovely and I just love those autumnal colors!

I finally got around to watching this, and I am really glad I didn’t delete it accidentally. What a fun technique. I may still have a piece of acetate with some ink on it where I played around a while back. Couldn’t figure out a good way to use it! Of course…I just need some adhesive sheet that will give me full coverage! Thank you so much. Love how the pumpkin looked on those reds and oranges!
