Stencils are still a major trend in crafting- after all, it’s how those of use with horrible less-than-stellar drawing skills can add that hand-drawn look to a project. And lucky for us, the designs offered continue to evolve and become more sophisticated and trendy! Today I’m sharing some stencils that REALLY caught my eye at CHA 2014- the Stencil1 line designed by Ed Roth for Plaid Crafts. It’s sophisticated, on-trend and even a bit edgy. Take a look at this […]
Here is the phenomenal Dyan Reaveley at Winter CHA 2013 showing off some of her new stencils and Dylusions inks! I so enjoy watching other artist’s creative process and Dyan’s proved to be nothing short of fantastic! I love how she never let one drop of inkgo to waste on her new stencils and continues to create base pages throughout her journal.
Creative Imaginations has a great line of stencils and I was sent a few for review. From their Existencils line, these came individually packaged in plastic with white paper behind them. Here’s a little bit about iStencils from the website: We have one of the largest online selections of stencils for home decor, custom clothing and more, including many different wall stencils, letter stencils, graffiti stencils and […]
Earlier this year, both Jenny and I gave you our opinions on the undeniably wonderful stencils made by the great folks at The Crafter’s Workshop. Â We loved them so much that Jenny even gave them the “Craft Test Dummies stamp of approval.” Â Well…you may recall that during the summer, Jenny posted a brief update about some new stencils released by The Crafter’s Workshop. Â Not only did they release new stencils of their own design, but they had teamed up with […]
Yesterday, you got to read Jenny’s take on the Crafter’s Workshop Stencils – and she gave them the “Craft Test Dummies Seal of Approval.” Â I will tell you right up front that I COMPLETELY agree!! Like Jenny, I have never been a huge fan of stencils. Â I have a drawer full of random stencils I’ve collected over the past decade, and I honestly cannot remember the last time I used one. Â But when I was preparing to go to CHA, […]
Confession: I’m not a stencil girl. I have a box of stencils and templates on the top shelf of my closet that I pretty much never use. Stencils seem…well… old fashioned? Like cheating? I guess I have bad flashbacks of 80’s country decor stuck in my head. After viewing the new line of stencils by The Crafter’s Workshop, all those previous notions have vanished! They are on-trend, GORGEOUS, and given my new proclivities for mixed media oh-so-versatile. In only a […]
