One of the things I love most about DIY is the opportunity for each maker to customize new projects in a way that incorporates her/his own personal style. And, since I’m a fabric and fiber crafter who’s pretty particular about shapes, color, and design, I always keep a special eye out for fun fabric and fiber customization tools and products while I’m walking the show floor. So, in my final CHA Summer 2013 post, I’ll give you a quick look […]
When picking out favorite booths on the show floor, I’m often drawn to over-the-top displays, vintage throwbacks, or eye-catching colors, but not this year. At CHA Summer 2013, I only had eyes for Bottle Cutting Inc. Nestled among the new exhibitors, Bottle Cutting Inc. wasn’t the flashiest or biggest booth at the show, but the intriguing products that I saw there kept me coming back again and again. An easy-to-use bottle cutter that makes perfect scores look effortless? Bottle top […]
As you walk the CHA show floor, a few things become apparent- certain trends are sticking around awhile. This may either delight or make you shake your head, but like it or hate it, these trends are here for at least another year. CHALKBOARD PAPER. Almost every holiday line I saw had some “chalkboard” element to it, and not just in grey. Cosmo Cricket had a blue chalkboard line, and Prima introduced both new papers and chalkboard flower embellishments. WOOD […]
It may not be fair to play favorites, but there was one booth that literally stopped me in my tracks as I walked by- the Die Cuts with a View (DCWV)/ Blue Moons Beads! Actually there were walls all around the booth- but the framed art on the outside was breathtaking. Each was fairly large- at least 36inches by 48. Want to see? And these were just OUTSIDE the booth. But it was more than enough to spark […]
The first day of the #CHAshow (the Craft and Hobby Association conference and trade show) is always a bit of a whirlwind. The FIRST event of the show is the Media and Buyers Event. It’s had fancy names in the past, like the “CHA Hot 20”, but this year they were going for a more straightforward event. So let me show you what I found compelling! (Listed here in no particular order.) I know that’s just a brief taste- […]
Well, as I write this, I’m still at CHA Winter 2011 and having a blast! Here’s a few photos to keep you entertained until I get home and can write up all the marvelous products and booths I’ve seen. Don’t worry…I’ve got “real” posts coming soon…but I’m still having so much fun, I couldn’t tear myself away!
