I love that I can still get excited by craft supplies! After 5 years in this world and literally thousands of craft supplies, there are still things that stop me in my tracks. I’m excited to share with you my “top picks” from the Create-N-Connect #CHAshow! These are products that I’m excited to use and try over the next few months. Ready? Here they are, in no particular order! Silhouette Cling Mount Stamp Making Kit This nifty kit allows you […]
Modular scrapbooking is not a new concept. These page protectors divided into easy-to-fill pockets have been around for the better part of a decade, often marketing themselves to new scrapbookers and those who say they “can’t” scrapbook as a quick and easy option for organizing photos. While at the Summer CHA show, I saw that the modular scrapbook trend is growing in several ways that make me very, very happy. In the past I wasn’t much of a fan of […]
When you first stepped on the CHA show floor, you immediately were faced with the giant and sparkly die cuts with a view (DCWV) booth! We’ve reviewed a few of the DCWV products here at craft test dummies, from their sticker paper, to fabric paper and chalkboard paper. DCWV has been around for years and is a staple paper company in the crafting industry. I challenge you to find a paper crafter that does not own at least one 12×12 […]
Today’s CHA coverage is brought to you by: As CHA Summer 2011 came to a close, I took one last stroll through the aisles to bid farewell to all of the creative and inspiring booths on the show floor. Here are a few that really stood out: The Unique Papercrafting Graphic 45 booth: The Smash Book Display in the EK Success Brands booth: The Tim Holtz Idea-ology booth: Can you believe that such beautiful booths are only up for a […]
This CHA coverage brought to you by: You know how crafters can speed walk through a notions store, only to be pulled in like a tractor beam to one tiny, amazing thing? That definitely happened to me today when I saw the satin cutout ribbon in the May Arts booth at CHA Summer 2011. I mean, just think of all of the amazing things that you could do with button ribbon! (And leaves, and hearts, and snowflakes…)
This CHA coverage brought to you by: I’ve been working trade shows in the book publishing industry for years, but CHA Summer 2011 is my very first craft-related show. And, I have to say, my mind was completely blown today! Everywhere I looked, there was yet another amazing product or crafty hero, and I walked out of each booth with at least 10 new project ideas—it was like I’d died and gone to craft heaven! So, even though I’d planned […]
Westcott (scissors) made a “splash” at CHA summer, teaming up with Scrapbook Royalty to host a fabulous party and silent auction to benefit the Wyland Foundation. The marvelous designers of CHA made and donated artworks (some fine art, some altered, some wearables) that fit in with the “Under the Sea” theme. The party was MC’d by Marisa Pawelko of the Modern Surrealist, and Elena Lai Etcheverry of Scrapbook Royalty. (By the way, SR is a wonderful charitable organization & you […]
Another debut at CHA Summer 2010 are the new coordinated stamp lines from Ranger Industries designed by Claudine Hellmuth (aka Collage Artist) called “Creative Layers.” Her new stamps features both foam stamps and coordinating line designs for easy layering and mixing and matching. Claudine has a whole line of fine-arts supplies for discerning crafters, so it’s no surprise that she uses that aesthetic for stamping. Take a look at her demo video: As I always, say, Claudine is just SO […]
One of the fabulous things about walking the floor at CHA Summer 2010 was checking out all of the fun techniques and make-and-takes at the show. I LOVE Tombow markers and adhesives, so I stopped by to see what was up there. Lucky for me, designer Marie Browning was on hand to show me a thing or two using the Dual Brush Markers. Take a look: Fun, right? Thanks, Marie, for taking the time to share with us!
One of the things I really admire about Provocraft is their releases of new products (such as the Cricut Imagine!) For example, they have teams of folks on the show floor just waiting to give your a personalized tour. I had some time and taped part of my “tour” for you- after all, the Imagine both prints AND cuts, and there are a lot of cool functions to this machine. Here’s PART of what I got- YouTube will only allow […]

Jenny meets crafting legend Suze Weinberg for a craft lesson with the hot wax stylus tool.
You know how crazy I am for UV curing resins- I practically keep Lisa Pavelka in business just with my consumption of Magic Glos. (read my reviews HERE and HERE). BUT, I digress. While at CHA Summer 2009 in Orlando, Florida, I came across the Sakura booth. I’ve heard of them as they produce the 3D Crystal Laquers that I know and love, but at the booth they were showing off a new product: a two-part UV resin. Surf on […]
