Here’s another great post by my dear friend Lisa Falduto, reviewing some of the goodies we procured at CHA summer.
Smooch! Don’t you just love the sound of that? The cute name? That is exactly what I thought when I stumbled upon the ClearSnap booth at CHA Summer in Chicago!
Clearsnap has been around in the paper crafting industry since 1986. They have been involved with rubber stamps, ink pads, and most recently Smooch, Smooch Spritz and Designer Foils. Watch for some upcoming posts about those products as well. What a versatile and innovative company to keep bringing us so many fantastic products to use in our paper crafting. Whether you are a card maker, scrapbooker, or mixed media artist, Clearsnap offers so much for crafters!
So here I am today giving these little beauties a test drive. When I looked at these three colors standing there together all that I could think of was Halloween. So I decided to go with my gut, and besides Halloween is right around the corner so a little inspiration coming your way for that holiday as well!
Previously I posted about Prima Craftable flower and all I kept wondering is how Smooch would work on those. Well as you can see by the results in my photo it is beautiful! I just painted my Smooch all over the flower and now I have a very sparkly yellow finish. The flower is still pliable as well. I also decided to use 2 circle cardstock centers which I created with a couple of punches and then covered them with orange and purple Smooch. What a nice finish on cardstock as well!
Next I wanted to make a card for Halloween. I always make my daughter come trick or treating at our house each year (a little tradition) and then I always have a special treat bag and a card waiting for her. So I wanted to make her card with special shimmer to it since she is such a bling girl like her mama. I used some cardstock and did a bit of die cutting to create the witches hat. Then I covered all the circle, star, and stripe accents with coordinating colors of Smooch. Look at that finish! I know it is hard to see the shimmer in the photo but in person there is no mistaking it! The Smooch went on easily, smoothly, and dried fairly quickly. You will also notice if you look carefully on the patterned cardstock along the bottom of the card that I added Smooch accents to the pattern there as well. What a nice way to bring the whole card together!
So after using Smooch a bit here is the final run down for you:
I love the vibrant colors and there are so many to choose from
The bottles are darling
They are easy to use
Give a shimmer to your projects
Do not dry well on non-porous surfaces
I wish they had a brush instead of a foam wand tip
I would love to have every single color in the collection to work with! There is so much you can do with these and it is so easy to dab some on to enhance all of your projects.
