Hey crafty friends! I’m working on some BIG new videos and reviews, but I wanted to give you a super-quick overview of the Simon Says Stamp (affiliate link) Card Kit for October 2014.
If you’ve got two minutes, I can show you what is in the card AND three cards I made right off the bat!
This is a new format for me- the “no talking” kind of video. Do you like it? It certainly keeps it short and sweet. I’d love your feedback.
Lastly, I did try the Operation Write Home Sketch from this week- it’s #240- and I used it for this card.
It was a fun way to showcase the lovely printed paper from the kit. And the embellishment was from a Brenda Pinnick kit that I got on clearance a year ago. Yay for using things from my stash!
I’d be happy to answer any questions about the kit- just leave them in the comments section. You know I’m on a bit of a subscription kit kick right now. If you missed it, make sure you see my overview of the Paper Pumpkin kit and my review of the Simon Says Stamp kit from June 2014.

Love all the cards, especially the acrylic block technique one! Really cute!

I usually like hearing your voice, but for just a reveal of the package contents, it’s fine.
Love the music you chose! Who are they? I’d love to purchase that CD.

Love the ideas but do miss hearing you talk about the product on how well they work.

This kit looks really gorgeous in comparison with the Pumpkin one, I this this is absolutely stunning and you really get the most of it.
Love the folk Celtic music you chose for the video, sounds like the music that is played in my homeland, Galicia, the bagpipes are also typical from here, NorthWest of Spain…. only the south of Spain have Flamenco dancing as traditional, the rest of Spain have very different music styles!

I think this type of format is fine for just showing what comes in a monthly kit. I like all the little “ad ons” that you put in on the side as comments. I do miss hearing you talk though. I can’t imagine any actual reviews of a product being done this way. It’s what your famous for!!! But this, as I stated above, is fine for a kit of the month. Other than that,,,,,, don’t change a thing!!!
PS loved the music!!!

Cute cards! SS card kits are the only ones I buy. I don’t subscribe but I’ve picked up a few. I really think these put the Paper Pumpkin ones to shame.

I agree with everyone else that for just a quick “reveal”, the no words type is fine. But. I love your commentary. Your insights are just one of the reasons we’ve subscribed to you. The music was great. I would also like to know the source. Thanks for all you do. Keep the info and insights coming.

Yes, I like this new, no-commentary format. Perfect for a sneak peek. I also like that you tell us up-front, how long it is. Two min is perfect. As Susan above mentioned, the musical accompaniment was great! I’d love to know the source, too. Thanks! (waiting for my kit in the mail…)

Tammy- I’d never do full reviews this way- it’s more testing the “show and share” format for new product releases. Thanks for your thoughtful comments!

Katy- I’m so happy to hear that you like the music- but it’s not “real” music at all! It’s a jingle that they packaged in with my iMovie editing program. There is no artist listed but the name of the piece is “Shetland.”

Thanks for the tip! I just linked up! 🙂

Jenny – I clicked back to July and noted you said these were your first SSS inks. I’d love to see a review of some of the new inks out there as SSS and Studio Calico have created new formulations of ink that supposedly work well with alcohol ink markers.
Also Avery Elle and Mama Elephant have lovely new pigment inks as well but wondering how they compare with the stuff readily available at the big stores such as Color Box.
