Painted Pendants of Polymer Clay

I’ve been working on some enamel-like effects on polymer clay pendants, and I made these a few weeks ago. I love Lumiere paints- they are acrylics with mica powders in them, which make them metallic and shimmery.

However, I had problems with them bubbling when I went to heat-set the glaze on top. Maybe I need to sand down the polymer bases so that the paints adhere better. I almost think that this technique won’t work for a class setting, there is too much drying time involved. But if I use tinted liquid polymer clay, we speed up the process alot.

Anyway, here’s two versions of the picture, one with flash, and one without:

I’m very proud of myself. I got over my fear of my Dremel, and now I can just make a pendant and worry about making holes afterward. Yay for me!

I think I’m going to finish the big green/coppery one. The rest will probably be abandoned.
The next question is: what to do with my abandoned/orphaned beads????
