Let’s show our pride by constructing a rainbow pin- we’ll even make the bezel. Of course, you can use this technique to create any kind of sparkly pin you like.
You’ll need just a few supplies:
(Here’s what I used as well as some handy Amazon affiliate links. Remember, these links don’t add ANY cost to you, but I get a few pennies back so I can keep creating new projects for you!)
Amazing Casting Resin: http://amzn.to/2rn6JKS
Sculpey Bezel Mold: http://amzn.to/2rmXbPY
Nuvo Crystal Drops: http://amzn.to/2sx248U
Ice Resin: http://amzn.to/2thj8MQ
Plus you’ll need some mixing cups, safety pins, pin backs and stirring sticks.
I made you a quick video with the step-by-step directions AND handy tips! It’s about 4 minutes long….
And if gay pride isn’t your thing, I’m sure you can find a way to adapt it to suit YOUR cause… or maybe just a little sparkly rainbow with a unicorn! 🙂
Happy Pride, y’all!

Jenny, Great project! I’ve been wanting to try resin and you may have pushed me over the edge. Thanks.
Sharon Field says
I obviously differ in my beliefs……….but I have to say that this post from you is a great disappointment to me.
Gail Campbell says
Sharon Field is obviously not a person that you want, or need comments from. She really needs to go to church, and HEAR what the preacher teaches, Not just show up, and say she is a Christian. She doesn’t belong in the US of A. Where we meld together to create one great nation. LOVE the pin, keep up the good work.
Spindlejigs says
Sharon Field, it’s a great tutorial which very clearly explains the process for making the pins. It also clearly states not once, but twice that if Gay Pride isn’t your thing then feel free to make a design which reflects your beliefs, which an inclusive and generous way to share the knowledge of the craft involved.

I’m having a hard time finding rainbow things for my Husband and I to wear to our Pride parade. I love your pin and am going to make a bunch for my family and friends so we can show our support!
Barbara Carlson says
Great project. What a great way to spread LOVE instead of hate.
Jenny says
Pride pins must exist, because bigotry still exists….and that disappoints ME. And I’m sorry you are not as committed to equality as I am. But perhaps you can find joy in a little rainbow?

I’ve been wanting to try using resin and this is a great little project. Bonus: I can show my support for those I love who need it. Win – win.
Cyn says
Love, love, love this.
PS – I am a Christian. God told me to love everyone. To spread love and not hate. That’s what this pin represents to me.
Suzanne says
As an Orlando resident and proud ally I would wear this everyday. What a great tutorial!
Lynnette says
I’ve never tried resin, and this tutorial makes me feel like I can do it! My non disappointment for this post is at least five times Sharon’s disappointment, so it more than cancels it out. Thank you, Jenny! 🙂
