Since this is blog-hop week for Ice Resin, I though I’d put up a video made by ArtBeads.com on how to use Ice Resin. There are a few things in the video that conflict with that I’ve been told by ObjectsandElements.com, but the basic measuring-mixing-pouring stuff is accurate. Take a look:
Couple of facts about Ice Resin:
- never yellows
- jewelry grade
- 1-hour pot time, according to O&E (when it starts to heat up, it’s going bad)
- “drys” to touch after 6 hours- you can wear it and work with it then
- cures in 3 days- that means KEEP IT EXPOSED TO AIR, or else it might cloud up on you.

This Ice Resin sounds very interesting Jenny, seems I’ve been hearing a lot about it lately. I have also heard that it is very compatible with polymer clay and doesn’t pull away from the sides like other resins do. I really want to get some to try out!
Cindy- that’s EXACTLY what I found- the Ice Resin does not “pull” at all! However, note that it is not as viscous as Magic Glos, and it does not naturally dome. You have to do a 2-step treatment to get that. However, for a quick topcoat on flat pendant, it really rocks!-Jenny
