So, my son wouldn’t let me share this until Halloween was over- he was very guarded with his idea. But I did want to share it with you for one reason- to remind you that Mod Podge is good for something other than gluing, sealing, or preserving.
What, you ask?
How about for changing the sheen of paper or foamcore?
We started off with some black foam core board that we cut down to approximate the scale of a real iPhone.
(By the way, this was a great learning activity for D, who’s in 5th grade. I made him do all of the math himself.)
Then to create the look of the case and screen, we taped off the area with painter’s tape and used good old Mod Podge in Gloss to make it look all shiny.
We printed out images of the apps, then glued them on with a glue stick.
Declan cut out the “Apple” on the back using my Slice Elite and some metallic paper. He used a round punch to make the “bite.” Isn’t he clever? He came up with how to make the logo all by himself.
Here again, he drew on the “lens”, but then added a coat of Mod Podge to make it look shiny, like glass.
I think he did a marvelous job- don’t you?
