It’s no secret that I love a good paper punch. It’s so much easier to reach for a punch and get what you want punched out quickly, rather than having to fuss with a die and a cutter and a “sandwich” or a setting. And it’s also no secret that Fiskars makes some mighty fine punches. Time to meet the newest additions to the family, the Fiskars Intricate Shape Punches!
They are substantial 2-stage punches – one stage punches the interior details, the second punches the outside shape.
Here’s how they are described on the website:

Love these punches and thanks for the demo. Will look for these next craft store shop.
WoW, those are huge and pretty!!! I wonder why Friskars are not making craft foam punches, in Spain we use so much that material, and in México and Brasil, I guess in France (Friskars is French, I believe) they don’t like using craft foam or it is not popular, I don’t know… maybe their main market is USA and craft foam is not popular enough there… Artemio is another brand that neglects craft foam punches, as far as I know.
These look gorrrgeous! I hope they come out with some rose-like designs and others such as seasonal trees, on and on….. wow! It’s about time that Fiskars flexed their muscles and created these. Since we all love them and know them for their fantastic lines of scissors… again, it’s about time to see such fantastic punches from them. I have a couple of OLD punches that aren’t very impressive. (Moment of silence for the deceased decorator punch…….)
Thanks for all the good info. I love the look of these punches. BTW regarding the one that you jammed up with a piece of holographic plastic, try putting it in the freezer for a couple of hours. This was the advice I got from another punch company when one of mine was jammed. The theory is that the metal will contract and release when frozen. It’s worth a try anyway.
Elaine- it’s worth a try. Thanks for the tip! I’ll report back….
Another great review – thanks so much! They are a bit big, though. If the freezer doesn’t work, and you run out of options, you can always try WD40 and spray every part of the metal. By then, it sure can’t hurt, might help.
Nice review. These look fun. For your jammed punch try this: flip it over and carefully tap around with a screwdriver or a mini hammer. Do NOT touch the blade. If all else fails, try dropping it onto carpet.
The punch is popped open; however, there is a the material jammed inside. I can get it to punch again, but the shape won’t come out. They are all jammed in there and so the punch is still useless. Any tips for getting the material out?? HELP, CRAFTY FRIENDS!!!
The issue I have now is that the spring is open, but the shrink film/plastic is still stuck inside. And when I punch paper, that piece then gets stuck inside…so the punched pieces aren’t coming out. Any ideas for that??
Try putting it in the freezer for awhile. The cold will cause the metal to constrict and hopefully the pieces will fall out. You may have to give it a couple of love taps, lol.
What about punching c/s?? I’ve broken a couple of their edge punches trying to use one on c/s…I gave up and got rid of all of them…
With so many “holes”, what kind of adhesive do you use to attach the intricate shapes to a card?
Janice- you can go two ways- a Xyron is great because it applies the dry sticky adhesive over the entire back of the punch, but it doesn’t stick to the “holes”, if you know what I mean. Or you can go with a glue pen and it works very well. Hope this helps, Jenny
Brenda- all of those shapes cut in red…that’s all cardstock. Worked just fine for me.
