Since I got all fired up over the paper beads bangle I saw in Crafts: Transforming Traditional Crafts, I thought I’d give y’all some fun links for paper beads and paper bead jewelry. Yup, this is the craft we all did at camp as kids- but really, aren’t we just kids at heart? So if you’ve got kids or not, get out some magazines, scrapbook paper left overs, or rescue some of that holiday wrapping paper from it’s landfill destiny, any try this out!
Try the basic tutorial from Paper University and learn different bead shapes…. did you know that the Victorians make room-dividing curtains from paper beads?
Stamper’s Mall has a variety of ideas using UTEE and inks… some of these look like glass lampwork beads!
Here’s some fun Newspaper jewelry, using just b&w pages, coupons, and mixing in some glass beads for bling. Good ideas..
Here’s a great site from an artist in Canada…. there are examples of what to do with beads, as well as a video tutorial on her site… totally groovy. I’ll be stealing (um, I mean “inspired by”) some of these designs.
Natasha has some great pictures on her site…love, love, love the sheet music beads…..
And here’s a You Tube Video to to get you rollin’- literally!

Now I’m off to go roll some more!
