As an avid papercrafter, I love adding decorative details to my tags, cards, and scrapbook pages. To whit, I have a BUCKET o’ fancy-edged scissors. But what do you do when you want to go to a crop, or takes some supplies on a trip? Well, usually I just leave mine at home. However, Quick Snippers are about to change all that!
To get to the point, Quick Snippers are the Swiss Army Knife of fancy scissors! It holds 6 pairs of scissors in one compact tool that measures XX wide by XX long and is XX deep. Because the snips are metal, it’s kinda hefty, too- and each scissors has a cutting path of XX inches.
So here are the patterns you’ll get with your Quick Snippers:

I don’t know about your, but besides the straight edge, my “go-to” patterns are often scallop, Victorian, and zig-zag. And here they are! So we know that this a great idea and handy and all, but the question really is- “Do they work?” Well, you know me…it wouldn’t be a CraftTestDummies review without some kind of swatching!
I tried to think of as many different things I would actually cut at a crop or while travel-journalling- and since I didn’t think it was feasible to use ALL of the scissors, I chose one at random and used it for all. (In this instance, the scallop.) Here’s how my swatch test turned out:
Now, on a number of them I found there to be some tearing. Here’s the deal: because the cutting area is so short, there is a nice, definitive cut until you reach the last 3/16 of an inch. You really need to give it a good squeeze to finish the cut. This was the case for a number of the scissors. Again, the “handle” portion is really small, so expect to put a little muscle into it- especially for thicker cardstocks or vellum.
For xerox-weight paper, vellum, and photos, it really worked nicely. On the thinner stuff, such as the tissue, there was a bit of “drag” and tearing at the tip. This was also the case for the vinyl. BUT-one piece of advice: make sure the scissors are opened the whole way- you should feel a little “click” to indicate that they are in place- before you use them. You get much better results if the scissors are “locked” in place before you start cutting. (Don’t ask how I figured this out!)
