Um, OK. So in the past few days I’ve shared my unabashed love for Mod Podge (satin and glossy), shared my new appreciation for Mod Podge Shimmer and now….buckle your seat belt…there’s GLITTER MP, too!
It has a lot in common with it’s other Mod Podge bretheren. Just to recap:
- It’s a glue, a finish, and a sealer
- It has a mild, distinctive odor.
- Has a tendency to show brushmarks. (Use a sponge-type brush to help this.)
- Has the viscosity of honey.
- Can be tacky to the touch when it dries. (But a quick coat of clear acrylic spray remedies this.)
- Non-toxic, safe for the kids.
- Works on any porous surface- paper, wood, cardboard, chipboard, fabric, cork, and more!
- Starts off opaque, but dries clear.
I’m guessing I don’t even need to TELL you how great it is to have the glitter built right into Mod Podge- it eliminates a whole step! And the more layers you put on, the greater the glitter-factor. Check out this video to see how it looks on different papers:
Good stuff!! I think Mod Podge Glitter is a MUST for the winter holidays- it’ll be so great for decoupaged ornaments, accents on scrapbook pages, and more! Here’s a wooden star I painted with one coat of Gesso and TWO coats of Glitter MP….

I’d love to add some glitter to some Halloween decorations – like some mini pumpkins I bought at the thrift shop. And then on to Christmas cards, and, oh, some ornaments, and….
Dana says
I have been looking all over for the Glitter version! I can’t seem to find it at any of the stores (though of course I haven’t asked anyone for help…) Again, this glitter version would be great for Christmas decorations that I can’t wait to start crafting!
Lindy says
Love your wooden star…..I actually have one at home didn’t know what to do with it. The MP glitter will be perfect….LOL. Thanks for the idea and inspiration.
Noreen says
I’d LOVE to get some Mod Podge Glitter. The only thing our sole craft store carries is the regular Mod Podge. I’m Mod Podging wrapping paper to some boxes to make them into permanent gift boxes, and I would love to glitter them up with the Mod Podge Glitter. I won’t use regular glitter because it would always be flaking off.
Kathy says
I would definitely use Glitter MP for Christmas decor. I don’t think I’ve ever seen Glitter MP in the store. Thanks for the giveaway!
Glenda Hart says
This new Mod Podge product is so great. I would use this on everything. Think of the WOW factor this would add. the possibilities are endless.
Kory says
I would use it to start making my tags for Christmas presents. I like to make Christmas morning magical for adults and kids on my list and how I do it is by handcrafting my tags and wrapping paper. It makes everything feel so much more special.
Susan Spiers says
Since the glitter relects light, the silver glitter would be perfect to paint the candles I place amongst the white boas(snow)that I place on my mantle! The other XMAS lights would pick up & reflect the candles for a very bright snowy look.
Stacie says
This would be great on all sorts of holiday decorations! Christmas, Independence Day, Halloween…
Arathi Prakash says
Thanks for the giveaway! I would use the glitter MP for making a photo frame! 🙂
Angela says
I love glitter but hate the mess it can make. This looks like just the thing I’ve been missing. I’m thinking a light coat of glitter MP on some domino pendants, or bracelets.
Thanks again for the great reviews this week, I’m really enjoying them!

I recently took a pair of plain flats and Mod Podged them with fabric. I plan on wearing them for my wedding! I want to add something extra special to them to fancy them up a bit, though, and I think a coat or two of Mod Podge Glitter would be just the thing!

YAY, no more loose glitter ALL over the car and house! I’d give some to the pre-school teachers to use with their holiday projects so that I won’t have to cringe when my children come home with their projects!

Did you notice a big difference between glitter and shimmer? I thought they turned out about the same (I was hoping for more gold), but maybe I just didn’t apply enough. Regardless, I’m a girl who loves glitter AND shimmer, so it’s a win either way!
Stefanie says
It would be fun to try the glitter on the magic wands I make/ sell. I already use shimmer on them and like it, but it would be interesting to see the difference!

Shoni says
I would use the glitter MP for this year’s family ornaments.
Each year, I craft an ornament for each member of my family with their name and the year to remember the holidays and our celebrations.
Thank you for the opportunity!

Kim Kiehl says
Every year I give my 5 kids ornaments with the year on. Someday I picture giving them a box filled with their ornaments when they have their first tree. Some years I buy them, some years I make them. This sounds like it would be the perfect topper to handmade ornaments this year.

Are you kidding?
What won’t I use it on?
Haaa haa.

Danielle says
Does anyone know if you can use mod podge on glitter and/or raised paper?
Jenny says
Sure you can! I use it on embossed paper. But you would be well-off being generous and/or spritzing the paper with water first, to help it absorb the MP and avoid buckling and bubbles!
