Last month while I was taping a segment of Scrapbook Soup, I was introduced to a new crafting product by hostess Julie McGuffee. She showed me these cute little paper dots that looked a lot like thumbtacks or brads, but were made out of paper instead of metal. Cute and lightweight, these little “legless” brads struck me as being versatile and cost-effective. Yes, I had my first taste of Candi, the paper crafting embellishment dots from Craftwork Cards.
Here’s how they are described on the website:
CANDi is the new paper craft embellishment line from UK. It is the perfect dimensional finishing touch to adorn any scrapbook pages, cards or projects. It is an innovative and exciting alternative to brads in that there are no legs, no need to pierce holes in your project and no special tools are required for use. Candi comes in a delicious selection of colors and styles and since Candi is made from paper, the options are endless as to how you create with them. You can use them just as they are or you can glitter them, ink them, stamp on them, or another option is to layer them to create beautiful 3D flowers.
Each pack is 0.35oz, which contains approx. 400 pieces.
So let’s take a look, shall we?
Of course, a video is worth a thousand pictures- so I made this one for you!
Here are some photos from that video…so you can see the detail a bit better:
You’ll probably want to pick up the foam mounts- they fit perfectly inside the Candi and just barely raise it up a bit for a 3-D effect. (It also keeps them from getting squished!) The stamp set is brilliant, as well- and could be used on any project. It’s a cling-mount acrylic set, so it’s easy to use and store, too!
Now let’s talk turkey. As mentioned above, these are sold in packets of approximately 400, and retail here in the US for anywhere between $3-4 USD. The stamps run for about $15.00. So for pennies apiece you can add these clever dots all over the place- great for faux-nailhead trim, cards, tags, home dec items… well, I can think of a bunch of ways to use them. And since you can color them, paint, them, glitter them, foil them-the list goes on- you’d be hard-pressed to NOT find a way to incorporate them into your crafting.
I’m thinking that for the price point, everyone should pick up a pack of white or ivory- and then color them with all of the sprays, glitter glues, inks, markers and stamp pads we have lying around!
Disclosure: this item was a gift. All opinions are 100% my own.

I think these look like a nice product. I just wonder if they will come out with ones that already have the foam tape on them?
