Today I have the third installment of the Envelope Punch Board Saga. As you may recall, the Envelope Punch Board by We R Memory Keepers took CHA by storm and generated quite the buzz. I then got to take one home to test out.
At that time I discovered that there were some measurements that were off- and offered you, the readers, how to fix those errors. (If you’d like, read the post and view that video here.)
Got a slew of questions on that post and video asking if all the boards were mis-marked, if WRMK were coming out with a V.2, and if there were going to be correction stickers. Well, now I have some answers for you!
First: YES, THE BOARDS THAT ARE BEING SHIPPED NOW ARE MARKED CORRECTLY.
Second: Right now, there is no mention of a V2.
Third: If you DID happen to purchase the first round of Envelope Punch Boards (that have the mis-markings) you can email WRMK and ask for a correction sticker at customerservice@weronthenet.
If you’d prefer just to print your own, click this link: http://www.weronthenet.com/File/View/611bf9ef-9ce0-48bb-98d5-2d8b6d658ea9
Now… ready for the update video?
So… there you go. As mentioned in the video, I found 8 differences in the markings. The company told me that the old version (with the exclusion of the 3X3 envelope, which was just incorrect) had markings that made the envelopes snug. The newer ones give you a bit more wiggle room.
Also… I found one more tip that will help you make the most accurate envelopes. When lining up the “foot” of the tool on the score line, make sure it’s aligned RIGHT ON TOP of the score line. See the photo below:
I’d love to hear any questions or concerns you might have. Feel free to comment below!

Glad to hear they corrected it. I have mine on order now and hope to have it by April. Thankfully, I should be getting the corrected one since I am measurement-challenged when it comes to making envelopes!

Great video and update. FYI Your link in the information on youtube isn’t working.

Just a quick note to tell you how glad I am to have found your site! I love, love, love it! I am new to scrapbooking/cardmaking (after buying a Cricket machine). I have found all of your reviews, etc. to be really helpful and informative! Thanks so much and keep up the excellent work!
Question….how does the We R Memory Keepers Punch board compare to the Martha Stewart Scoring Board and adhesive kit?
Diane says
Thanks for the update.
I loved some of the stuff you found at Tuesday Mornings. I have been to three with no luck. I really liked the wings. Hope that others had better luck. Thank you for sharing.
Katie says
Thanks for the video! Did they happen to say how long it takes to get? the sticker? I got a round one board, and despite the typo’s , I LOVE IT!
Dee in NH says
That bad boy is still on my wish list!
Jenny says
Katie- you’d have to ask that question of the company. I’m not affiliated with them. Good luck!
Caryn S. (Scrapnsing) says
Jenny I can’t remember if it was your review that said that if you were trying to make a larger envelope, there was an issue with being able to score the sheet all the way. This was due to the board not being large enough to hold the whole sheet and therefore the scoring tool would run out of board before it ran out of paper. Is there a plan on the part of WRMK to add an extension for this? It looks like an awesome tool but this is the one design issue that would keep me away for now.
Ohio Chanteuse says
Hi. Thanks for the helpful videos. I got my board today, and I think I got a corrected version, because my measurements match the ones on your update video.
Just wanted to share, though, that the large page you displayed which I received only contains measurements that didn’t fit on the board itself. They pick up with six inches plus. So there is not a large format for all the sizes of envelopes. I would REALLY love a separate sheet, in larger print, with all the sizes on it. So thanks for the email addy! I’ll write and ask them if they can provide us with a large format pdf file we could just print out.
Thanks again for all the help with this product. I’ve made several size envelopes today and really love this tool. Glad I got it.
Kim Pietruszewski says
how do you know if you have one from the second batch? I picked mine up a week or so ago and it has the corrected 3×3 markings but I don’t know what else to look for
Jenny says
Kim- if tge 3×3 m measurements are correct you have yge updated board.
Jackie says
I just emailed them for the sticker – thanks for the link! I see they haven’t altered the measurements for the A2 envelope, though. That’s disappointing. I really don’t care for the size of that envelope using the current score lines. Thanks for all of the info and the updates!
Judy says
Oh know, I just looked at my board replacement sticker, and its in metric numbers! I sent WeAreMemory Keepers an email requesting a sticker in US format, or inches. Do you know if they printed one in inches? Did I just happen to get a sticker for European sales? Or is my board’s numbers correct and they simply provide a sticker for their European customers? How do I know if I have the correct numbers?
Thanks for a great tutorial!
Jenny says
Judy- My sticker was in inches. Just re-email them.
Ellen says
I have the envelope punch board which I purchased new. I am having nothing but problems with the punch part. It keeps sticking and getting caught. I have to remove the paper, turn it over and place a screw driver in the bottom of the metal part and push to get it unstuck. Very frustrating. No impressed at all. Great idea though and I think a companion board that does envelope liners would be a great addition. I hope another company tries making one with a better punching mechanism.
Jenny says
Ellen- sometimes the metal gets sticky- it happens with all kinds of punches. Try adding a few drops of tri-flow (sewing machine) oil to the mechanism or punching with some wax paper. That should help you a bit. Trust me, we all have sticking punches now and again. Good luck!
Gail Peterson says
can someone share with me how to make a 3x 5 envelope ? the sticker suggestion is comes out a square envelope not a rectangular one.? I want to make envelopes to go in my little metal boxes with the clear lids ? I can not seem to figure it out myself wondering if anyone has been able to? thanks for your help

I wish there was a place where the correction sheet for the We R Memory Keepers Envelope Punch Board was posted online, so I could just print my own instead of having to contact them and wait for them to mail it to me. Any place where one could find that, that you know of? Thanks for all the info on this thing. Without it I would have just launched it through the window!
Kristin says
I just purchased this on Nat’l scrapbook day and the measurements for the A2 card are incorrect. I ended up going with the 4 1/2 x 6 envelope to make my card fit. The sticker I received with the board was in centimeters as well as the fold out and instructions. I have emailed We R Memory Keepers hoping to get a correct sticker replacement.
Kari Webster says
I received a replacement sticker and the measurements for the A2 size are still incorrect. If anyone knows and can just tell me the correct measurement – I will write it on my board – this is the main size I make – so if anyone knows – that is all the info I need. THANKS!
Marie says
Thought I had found the perfect envelope maker BUT sorry to say it
Will not make a proper A-2 🙁
Always larger than the card.
Guess I will go back to the green sneakers template
Works like a charm.
Debbie says
Just got mine today and the measurements are still off. The adhesive sheet of corrections that is included is in meters. Just trying to make A2 envelopes was a challenge. Finally cut the paper at 8×8 and scored at 3 1/2.
The concept is great but you can’t make accurate envelopes without accurate measurements.
I think they need to go back to the drawing board and maybe we will get the measurements from them.
Kathy says
I don’t think it’s right even with the correction if the score line for an A2 is 3 3/4. That makes a square envelope that doesn’t fit a 4.25 x 5.5 card…after a very frustrating time of trying everything the correct score line measurement for an A2 card is 3 1/2″.
Kim says
If anyone works out how to make larger envelopes i.e. 8×8 and larger using this board, please post 🙂
Lois says
I just received my board today and nothing was updated on my board. The folded sheet included with my board showed metric measurements, the sticker sheet was also in metric measurements. I usually make only A2 (4 1/4 x 5 1/2) cards and it didn’t have measurements for that. According to WRMK’s an A2 is 4 1/2 x 5 1/2.which is not correct. I also looked on the site where I can download the correct measurements, but it was the same as on the board. No Changes that I could see. Right now, I’m very disappointed. I will email mail them for an updated sticker.

I finally got mine last week and it STILL has the cm measurements on it so I am reprinting the sticker…
Peggy Joyce says
Glad you cleared that up, especially about carefully scoring larger sheets of paper…love the tool but perhaps the rush to “get it to market” caused very poor quality testing on MK part. Thanks for being the watchdog!

I just received this envelope punch and, like others, found the dimensions for the A2 size to be incorrect. I figured out the correct dimensions are 7 7/8 x 7 7/8 with the score at 3 1/2. I haven’t tried any other envelopes. I hope that helps some.
Angie says
The link, wereonthenet.com isn’t the correct measurement for the A2 envelope, it still says 4 1/2 x 5 1/2 card size and the score line at 3 3/4!! I just used your measurements (thank you so much for saving my brain from bursting) and the resulting envie was perfect.
Susi says
AARRGGHH! I wish i would have looked here and read all of the reviews before purchasing this! I was so excited to get it, and now am very, bummed to see that everyone else is having the same issues as I am!.
I don’t know what to do. I really should just return it and get my money back, but then again, I really do love the concept and being the positive person that i am, know that they will fix this problem by sending out or at least put a correct one on the web for the time being.
Another reason that I don’t want to return it is because I got it at a discounted price, and I know that if and when they ever come out with a board that is correct, I will probably not have the chance of getting it so inexpensively again. (what a cheapskate, I know, lol!
Anyway, I called the store where I got it, and one of the ladies who works there is called the ‘envelope queen”, and can show me how to use it. I’ll see what she “teaches me, and I’ll report back.
In the meantime, I will use my MS scroreboard, which at least has directions for an A2 that is almost perfect, it’s too deep for my liking).
I can’t believe that WRMK are not fixing this, even with all of the customer complaints. Which is bad, bad, business on their part. Maybe a boycott on their products would be something to think about?
I am going to buy a green sneakers envelope maker today, I have one that makes the 5 X 7 size. Unfortunately, I did not do this a while back when they had a great deal where you could get both sizes together at a great deal with free or low cost shippping. Bummer.

I bought mine at a local Rubber Stamp store in Portland, Oregon. The salesclerk was kind enough to give me the proper measurements for making an A-2 envelope. Hope this helps.
A-2 Measurements: Paper Size – 7 7/8″
Score at: 3 1/2″
This makes a perfect envelope for the A-2 card.
susi says
Hello again,
Here’s an update on my own experience with the envelope punch board.
After having made my previous post, I decided to email We R Memory Keepers with my concerns. The first one I sent was returned as undeliverable. I re-sent it, that one was also returned as undeliverable. I used the address that is given on the WRMK website. I checked the spelling spelling on both, and they were both correct. So…I decided to call them directly.
This is how the conversation went:
Me: I’m calling because I am having issues with the measurements on my tool being incorrect.
WRMK Rep Alex: Can you read the measurements for the 3 x 3″ envelope for me?
(I read them to her.)
Rep: The measurements are correct. Are you measure the paper each time you turn the paper?
Me: No, because from what I understand, you don’t have to do that with this tool.”
Rep: Have you watched the video showing how to correctly use the tool?
Me: Is it the one that is on your website?
Rep: No, I don’t think so. I will email you the link.
Me: Thanks. I have another thing that really is no a huge problem, but is incorrectly marked on the board. It has the measurements of an A2 card as being 4.5 x 5.5″. An A2 card measures 4.25 x 5.5″.
Rep: Our tool only measures in 1/4″ increments.
(I didn’t even continue with that because she obviously did not understand what Iwas saying.
Me: I really like the large fold out page that you have in large print, but the one that came with my punch board is in cm, not inches, so it is useless to me.
Rep: You can print it from our website. (She proceeds to direct me to the measurement chart)
Then she hangs up. No good-bye, nothing. She was pretty much like that during the entire conversation, very curt with me, like she did not have time to listen to my concerns.
Anyhoo…I ended up going to the store where i bought my board, and was shown that I indeed was using it correctly. The store employee agreed with me that the card size for an A2 card was not correct. We also discussed how the “correct” measurements, were indeed correct, but the envelope was a bit too tall for our personal tastes, we both like an envelope that fits nicely around all of the edges.
When I came home, I looked at the link that was sent to me by Alex. It was your (crafttestdummies) “Update Video: Tips on hot to get more accurate results with the envelope punch board.; which I really do appreciate very much, but it STILL doesn’t show me how to make an envelope for an A2 card that fits properly.
This morning I called WRMK once again and spoke to Stephanie, who was quite pleasant, and did her best to help me out with the issue of printing a large print chart. She said that she was able to make a custom size that was very readable. I told her that I didn’t know how to do this so she is going to send me a copy of what she was able to print out. I asked her if in the future there would be a large print fold out chart that has the measurements in English, I think it’s only fair to have one that is also on nice glossy paper. She says that she doesn’t know, that she would pass that on to the designers.
Anyway, I apologize that I have written such a long comment, but I wanted to share my own experiences in dealing with the WRMK company regarding these issues.I am still frustrated because I am still at square one in my opinion. I just got the run around, even though Stephanie was much nicer to me that Alex was (Stephanie said that she will discuss that with Alex btw)
I will keep my Envelope Punch Board, and hopefully I will learn the tips and tricks needed in order to make nice envelopes. I see that they already have another tool coming out where you can make boxes etc. I will not be purchasing that for sure! I will not “boycott” purchasing WRMK products, because I want to have a Cinch someday.
Sigh…this whole thing has left a bad taste in my mouth.
Thanks for letting me vent.
Susi
PS: I did not buy the Kreate-A-Lope. I can’t afford it right now, but when I can, I definitely will; because I know that it does make envelopes “without a hitch” as another commenter stated.
susi says
I have another update and it’s a good one. The last rep I spoke with at WRMK, Stephanie, did indeed send me a .pdf file that is a large print coppy of the measurement chart. I am willing to share it.
I also found another video that clearly explains the reasoning behind the incorrect A2 card size.
I feel better about having bought the EPB. One think I don’t feel good about is that I as a consumer, and everyone else who has purchased this tool, should NOT have had to go through all of this hassle. Period.
I’ll get off my soap (and “whine”) box now.
Susi
Sally says
@susi – thanks for the updates. How can I get a copy of your pdf? And would you share the link to the video? Thanks!
LJ says
Interesting to read all of these comments; it seems I am not the only one to truly hate the poorly sized A2 ‘ope.
Playing around, I like the results I have gotten from 8 x 8 paper scored at 3-1/2 inches. This comes out very close to a purchased A2 envelope.
I’d also like a copy of that .pdf with large-print American measurements; the one that came with my board is in centimeters (and the A2 is incorrectly sized on that as well).
Glad I stumbled across this site!
Kim says
@Susi…
Could I please get a copy of your PDF of measurements? Even with my glasses on I can barely see the tiny numbers on the sticker! Gotta love getting old! Thanks a ton!
Darlene says
Thanks so much Jenny for the video and information. I like the idea of the large print .pdf, @Susi could you share the file?

It is a lousy fix stickie notes to correct the problem I paid full price it wasn’t a second and I want a board that has the correct measurements and sizes silked screned on it. It wasn’t from a second’s store.
Ruby Wilkes says
I have the punch board and really haven’t had a problem, perhaps it’s because I tend to make bulky cards and the little extra room is helpful. I hope you ladies get some resolution to your problem but I love the punch board, it’s still much better than some the alternative. I have bought A2 envelopes that were a little different in size.
Wendy Engel says
I’m having issues with the 4 x4 envelope. It looks sloppy when I fold along the score lines. Is anyone having this problem and is there a fix? I’m actually disappointed with this product, but will persevere.
Sue Lis says
I purchased one of the boards with the incorrect measurements on it. I think Susi and I spoke with the same rude customer service rep who insisted my board had the correct measurements after asking me to tell her what measurements were on the 3×3 envelope size. I am a long time stamper and have made my own envelopes for many years. I was excited when I heard about this new tool. Instead, I’m terribly disappointed with it. The rude customer service rep ended up mailing me a new sticker, but it was in centimeters not inches. Also the larger instruction sheet that came with the board also was only in centimeters. I would love to have one in inches, as I live with two granddaughters who also love cardmaking along with me. It would be so nice for them not to have to stop and ask me for the correct measurement when making theirs. I am just amazed at the lack of customer service help this company has shown. They made the mistake, we trusted them and purchased their inept product. The least they could do was correct the problem. That’s all anyone of us is asking for.

I too wish the letters were bigger.
katherine vega says
Hi. Do you know if is there any problem with the A-8 measure. The card size is too big for the envelope size that happens to be just as the previous measurement in the board.
G says
Would you happen to know what score line I would use to make a finished envelope size 9 1/4 x 6
My cards are 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 but they are embellished and need a bit more room.
sally says
I also am having issues with the envelope punch board. I need to make A7 size envelopes for dimensional cards (would like 1/4, 1/2 and 3/4 inch depth). I dont know what size paper to cut and I dont know where to score them. Using the measurements printed on the punch board makes square cards . If you add a 2nd score line for the depth, the card doesnt fit…FRUSTRATING! I am extremely disappointed in the product.
Any one that can help out there?
Relly says
@susi…
Can i get a copy of ur pdf file with the larger print? Also, pls share the link of the video u found relating to the A2 envelope size…thanks!
sally says
Gail,
To make a 3 x 5 envelope that is actually the correct 3 x 5 rectangle size/shape, I would have to recommend that you use the Martha Stewart scoring board. I have learned not to rely on the envelope punch board…plus, the punch board makes square envelopes. Please utilize the triangle shaped accessory with the M.S. board as it has the correct paper sizes and the correct scoring lines.
Hope this is helpful to you. I am very disappointed in the envelope punch board.
Additionally, I am disappointed on the WRMK assistance.

Kathy says
I bought mine through Stampin Up. Ours came with a second sticker for larger size envelopes going all the way up to card size 15.2×21.6 although the board is obviously not large enough to make them. I checked the measurements for the A2 card on my board. For a 4 1/4 and 5 1/2 card, it says to cut your paper at 8″x8″ and to use the 3 1/2″ scoreline. Someone above had come to the same conclusion through trial and error. Also, I took a look at the table of the new measurements from the links and I think there is one more error. The paper size and score measurements are the same for the 5 1/2 x 7 1/2 card and the 5 1/2 x 8 card (A8). On my board the A8 card size has a paper size of 10 5/8 x 10 5/8, scoring at 4 3/8″. As for the envelope liners, Stampin Up sells thinlit dies to make envelope liners that match the three standard size envelopes that they sell. A store called the Paper Source also sells a plastic template to make an envelope liner for an A2 card that matches their envelopes.
Rosey says
@Kathy – like you, I originally thought that the sticker was for larger envelope sizes, but it isn’t. It is in centimetres rather than inches. It took me a while to work that out, because the unit of measurement is not defined either on the table printed on the board, or on the sticker. Rookie error – not good!
@Cindy – re: your comment on Jan 25th about selling internationally, I think they are telling only half the story. If WRMK were serious about selling internationally, they would not just have converted American paper sizes into centimetres, they would have included proper measurements for international paper sizes as well. Outside the US we have completely different sizing conventions. Our standard paper size is A4, which is a little thinner and taller than your Letter size. Folded in half, that means that the A-2 envelope is not quite wide enough. The next size up needs paper 8.5″x8.5″ and A4 paper is only 8.25″ wide!
I wish I had known this before I bought it, although I will be playing to see if I can make this work.
Rosey says
OK, it does work. I cut an A4 page square (21cm or 8.27″, to be precise, square) and punched and scored at the 3.5″ point. That made an envelope that is about a quarter inch bigger all round than an A5 card which is good enough for me. I’ve marked my punch board accordingly.
Suze UK says
Thanks for all the research you’ve done, I have printed out the correction sheet and made notes of each of the suggested corrections. I have the MT board as well which is slightly out for our A4 size and I CANNOT work out where my middle is so I just have to score and then use my bone folder quite firmly to get an exact fold. Because of this I’ve never actually tried the envelope maker. The C5 envelopes I can buy here are just too big for A5 size cards so I have to start making my own, The problem is that cardcraft isn’t as big in the UK as it is in the states and there are no UK products like these that I’ve been able to find. So I still can’t wait for this little thing to come!
Sabrina Radican says
Hi I haven’t had my envelope punch board very long and now it doesn’t want to punch the rounded conors any more. Do you have any suggestions on how I could possibly sharpen the blade?
Jenny says
You can try punching through a few sheets of aluminum foil or a sheet of sandpaper to try and sharpen the punch. Sometimes punching through waxed paper can help as well. Good luck & happy crafting!
Zoë says
Wow, I just read through all those comments hoping to find a solution to my problem as I didn’t want to repeat it if someone had already asked.
Is anyone else having trouble making a batch of the same size envelopes uniform? At first I thought that maybe it was my paper being cut slightly off as I have a new paper trimmer I am trying to get the hang of. I decided to use a pack of 6×6 pre-cut paper as I knew they would be accurate and I still had the same problem. I tried 4 envelopes and each time 1 was a 1/4 inch narrower and taller. I did the exact same thing for each one and then tried a second time with another 4 sheets but did what Jenny said in her video about measuring twice. Still 1 out of the 4 was narrower and taller.
Obviously user error but what am I doing wrong? I’m going to email WRMK too, just thought I’d see if anyone else is having the same issue. I really want to make a set of 4 note cards with matching envelopes to sell but I need them to all be the same size.

Patti says
I have the new measurements, and I know you said the A2 envelope will be a bit big…. but does anyone know if it will require extra postage like the square envelopes do… That is my only concern.
Jenny says
Patti- check with the post office! Square ones cost extra because they are “non-machineable” and need the extra postage. A2’s may need the second-ounce stamp due to the size, but I haven’t been there to ask yet. 🙂

How do i make a UK C6 size envelope with this?? which measurements am i using???

Envelope punchboard is still not correct. When punching off-sized envelopes
i.e.4 x 8 1/2″ the long side flaps are too long. After my husband and I punched around 8 or 9 envelopes that were different sizes, they all came out with flaps that were too long. Not holding my breath that WRMKs will ever fix issue completely.

I tried to order a replacement sticker for my punch board..but was
unable to do so….could you please let me know how I can get one..
I would appreciate it very much….I even tried to send an e-mail and
they keep telling me the address is not right….so any help would be
appreciated…thank you
Jenny says
Jewell- I’m guessing that it’s all shut down because all of the mis-labeled boards have been corrected and/or they are selling the new, corrected ones now.
Jenny says
How old is your board? All of the boards after April 2013 should be fine. (This is an old post.) If you still need tips, try this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ASUawKRLZxE
Alice Wright says
I guess I must not be too smart. I can’t make anything but square envelopes with the WRMK punch board and even after viewing your video still can’t figure it our. I really need some help. I’m ready to boycott WRMK as well as they certainly don’t offer any additional help.
Jenny says
Alice- I’m guessing that all of your envelopes are square because you are not lining up the guide with your first score line. If you keep scoring on the first measurement line given, your envelopes will all be square. Good luck!
Bernice says
Thanks for the tips and the video. I am so frustrated. Looking at the measurements on the sticker for the envelope punch board, you would always get a perfect square. Therefore all the measurements must be wrong. I just spent 2 hrs and a bunch of paper and time scratching my head and thinking what is wrong that I cannot figure this out. I am so sorry I bought this (Dec 2015) and will not trust them with any other punch board. Can you at least tell me (since I have to now wait and TRUST that they will send me an accurate sticker) thanks to you__I need to make 5.50×4.25 cards. My understanding is 8×8 paper scored at 3.50. Well, that is a perfect SQUARE. I don’t need a perfect square. Hope you can help==Thanks in advance!
Jenny says
Bernice- there isn’t a true 4.25X 5.5 envelope- the closest is 4.5 X 5.5, but that will work. You cut the paper to 8 and 1/8 inches; score at 3 3/4 inches- the rotate the paper and LINE UP THE SCORE LINE on the LEFT SIDE SCORE GUIDE (I’m not shouting, but this is important) and you will get a rectangular card. If you rotate the paper and line it up again at the 3 3/4 mark, you WILL get a square card. I’m thinking that’s where your error lies. Good luck!

wow, so many complaints about the punch board, I thought I was the only one who couldn’t make an envelope according to the measurements given, whats wrong with me?? I am wondering the peel off measurements that came with my board, something is not right, measuremets start at 5.1 x 9.this is wrong. the board ends with 6×81/2. doesn’t continue in order, does this make sence?? anyone else have this problem????

Hi Jenny! Since the We R Memory Keepers 123 punch board can already be used to create envelopes, would you say that its a better buy than going for their envelope punch board since it can multitask?
Jenny says
Absolutely! I actually have one and will crack it open to do a demo!
