Today I have the third installment of the Envelope Punch Board Saga. As you may recall, the Envelope Punch Board by We R Memory Keepers took CHA by storm and generated quite the buzz. I then got to take one home to test out.
At that time I discovered that there were some measurements that were off- and offered you, the readers, how to fix those errors. (If you’d like, read the post and view that video here.)
Got a slew of questions on that post and video asking if all the boards were mis-marked, if WRMK were coming out with a V.2, and if there were going to be correction stickers. Well, now I have some answers for you!
First: YES, THE BOARDS THAT ARE BEING SHIPPED NOW ARE MARKED CORRECTLY.
Second: Right now, there is no mention of a V2.
Third: If you DID happen to purchase the first round of Envelope Punch Boards (that have the mis-markings) you can email WRMK and ask for a correction sticker at customerservice@weronthenet.
If you’d prefer just to print your own, click this link: http://www.weronthenet.com/File/View/611bf9ef-9ce0-48bb-98d5-2d8b6d658ea9
Now… ready for the update video?
So… there you go. As mentioned in the video, I found 8 differences in the markings. The company told me that the old version (with the exclusion of the 3X3 envelope, which was just incorrect) had markings that made the envelopes snug. The newer ones give you a bit more wiggle room.
Also… I found one more tip that will help you make the most accurate envelopes. When lining up the “foot” of the tool on the score line, make sure it’s aligned RIGHT ON TOP of the score line. See the photo below:
I’d love to hear any questions or concerns you might have. Feel free to comment below!

Glad to hear they corrected it. I have mine on order now and hope to have it by April. Thankfully, I should be getting the corrected one since I am measurement-challenged when it comes to making envelopes!

Great video and update. FYI Your link in the information on youtube isn’t working.

Just a quick note to tell you how glad I am to have found your site! I love, love, love it! I am new to scrapbooking/cardmaking (after buying a Cricket machine). I have found all of your reviews, etc. to be really helpful and informative! Thanks so much and keep up the excellent work!
Question….how does the We R Memory Keepers Punch board compare to the Martha Stewart Scoring Board and adhesive kit?

Thanks for the update.
I loved some of the stuff you found at Tuesday Mornings. I have been to three with no luck. I really liked the wings. Hope that others had better luck. Thank you for sharing.

Thanks for the video! Did they happen to say how long it takes to get? the sticker? I got a round one board, and despite the typo’s , I LOVE IT!

That bad boy is still on my wish list!
March 11, 2013 at 10:41 pm
Katie- you’d have to ask that question of the company. I’m not affiliated with them. Good luck!

Jenny I can’t remember if it was your review that said that if you were trying to make a larger envelope, there was an issue with being able to score the sheet all the way. This was due to the board not being large enough to hold the whole sheet and therefore the scoring tool would run out of board before it ran out of paper. Is there a plan on the part of WRMK to add an extension for this? It looks like an awesome tool but this is the one design issue that would keep me away for now.

Hi. Thanks for the helpful videos. I got my board today, and I think I got a corrected version, because my measurements match the ones on your update video.
Just wanted to share, though, that the large page you displayed which I received only contains measurements that didn’t fit on the board itself. They pick up with six inches plus. So there is not a large format for all the sizes of envelopes. I would REALLY love a separate sheet, in larger print, with all the sizes on it. So thanks for the email addy! I’ll write and ask them if they can provide us with a large format pdf file we could just print out.
Thanks again for all the help with this product. I’ve made several size envelopes today and really love this tool. Glad I got it.

how do you know if you have one from the second batch? I picked mine up a week or so ago and it has the corrected 3×3 markings but I don’t know what else to look for
March 16, 2013 at 1:36 pm
Kim- if tge 3×3 m measurements are correct you have yge updated board.

I just emailed them for the sticker – thanks for the link! I see they haven’t altered the measurements for the A2 envelope, though. That’s disappointing. I really don’t care for the size of that envelope using the current score lines. Thanks for all of the info and the updates!

Oh know, I just looked at my board replacement sticker, and its in metric numbers! I sent WeAreMemory Keepers an email requesting a sticker in US format, or inches. Do you know if they printed one in inches? Did I just happen to get a sticker for European sales? Or is my board’s numbers correct and they simply provide a sticker for their European customers? How do I know if I have the correct numbers?
Thanks for a great tutorial!

Judy- My sticker was in inches. Just re-email them.

I have the envelope punch board which I purchased new. I am having nothing but problems with the punch part. It keeps sticking and getting caught. I have to remove the paper, turn it over and place a screw driver in the bottom of the metal part and push to get it unstuck. Very frustrating. No impressed at all. Great idea though and I think a companion board that does envelope liners would be a great addition. I hope another company tries making one with a better punching mechanism.

Ellen- sometimes the metal gets sticky- it happens with all kinds of punches. Try adding a few drops of tri-flow (sewing machine) oil to the mechanism or punching with some wax paper. That should help you a bit. Trust me, we all have sticking punches now and again. Good luck!

I wish there was a place where the correction sheet for the We R Memory Keepers Envelope Punch Board was posted online, so I could just print my own instead of having to contact them and wait for them to mail it to me. Any place where one could find that, that you know of? Thanks for all the info on this thing. Without it I would have just launched it through the window!

I just purchased this on Nat’l scrapbook day and the measurements for the A2 card are incorrect. I ended up going with the 4 1/2 x 6 envelope to make my card fit. The sticker I received with the board was in centimeters as well as the fold out and instructions. I have emailed We R Memory Keepers hoping to get a correct sticker replacement.
May 11, 2013 at 9:29 am
I received a replacement sticker and the measurements for the A2 size are still incorrect. If anyone knows and can just tell me the correct measurement – I will write it on my board – this is the main size I make – so if anyone knows – that is all the info I need. THANKS!

Thought I had found the perfect envelope maker BUT sorry to say it
Will not make a proper A-2
Always larger than the card.
Guess I will go back to the green sneakers template
Works like a charm.

Just got mine today and the measurements are still off. The adhesive sheet of corrections that is included is in meters. Just trying to make A2 envelopes was a challenge. Finally cut the paper at 8×8 and scored at 3 1/2.
The concept is great but you can’t make accurate envelopes without accurate measurements.
I think they need to go back to the drawing board and maybe we will get the measurements from them.
May 13, 2013 at 2:36 pm
I don’t think it’s right even with the correction if the score line for an A2 is 3 3/4. That makes a square envelope that doesn’t fit a 4.25 x 5.5 card…after a very frustrating time of trying everything the correct score line measurement for an A2 card is 3 1/2″.

If anyone works out how to make larger envelopes i.e. 8×8 and larger using this board, please post

I just received my board today and nothing was updated on my board. The folded sheet included with my board showed metric measurements, the sticker sheet was also in metric measurements. I usually make only A2 (4 1/4 x 5 1/2) cards and it didn’t have measurements for that. According to WRMK’s an A2 is 4 1/2 x 5 1/2.which is not correct. I also looked on the site where I can download the correct measurements, but it was the same as on the board. No Changes that I could see. Right now, I’m very disappointed. I will email mail them for an updated sticker.

You can print your own label from this website….
I finally got mine last week and it STILL has the cm measurements on it so I am reprinting the sticker…

Glad you cleared that up, especially about carefully scoring larger sheets of paper…love the tool but perhaps the rush to “get it to market” caused very poor quality testing on MK part. Thanks for being the watchdog!

How can I get a measurement sheet in metric?
Thank you for any advice you can give me.

I just received this envelope punch and, like others, found the dimensions for the A2 size to be incorrect. I figured out the correct dimensions are 7 7/8 x 7 7/8 with the score at 3 1/2. I haven’t tried any other envelopes. I hope that helps some.
