You know I’m a fan of up/cycyling and recycling, so I was thrilled to see a product that allows you to silk screen directly onto fabric, shirts, tote bags, etc, without one of those expensive machines. Simply Screen Silk Screen by Plaid was doing live make-and-takes at the CHA (consumer) Supershow, and just HAD to try me some of that!
Head on over to CraftCritique to read my review and see the demo video I shot of the Simply Screen. What would YOU do with it?

I saw your demo at the Craft show in Orlando at the beginning of this month. After waiting in line over 1/2 hour it was decided to eliminate the lines to 5 people. We were number 6 and didn’t get a chance to do the project. The people in front of us had to be forced by their friends to do the shirt and we really wanted to do this. We didn’t get a chance. The people working the show decided to let a bunch of kids from the same family instead do the shirt. We know the boy wouldn’t even wear the item when completed, a total waste of time, fabric and experience. They never would purchase your product and you totally lost my sale when the person in charge ignored me and my daughter who really was interested in making this a product in which to add to her business. It seems to be a decent product but we will never know because we intend to tell all of our other crafter friends about the way we were treated by your staff. Hire better informed people who will enhance the customer relations of your prospective purchasers.

JMason– I’m not sure what “you” you are talking about. They are not MY staff- I’m a craft product reporter. I’m not employed by the Plaid company, I was there of my own accord trying out the products to share with my readers. I am not affiliated with any craft product company whatsoever, and furthermore do not sell any craft products.
That being said, I’m so sorry you had a negative experience at CHA Supershow. We (the reporters) were told that attendance would be huge, and I don’t think all of the vendors were really ready for the crush of folks that wanted to do the make-and-takes. (Again, this was the FIRST year for the Consumer Supershow, there is certainly a learning curve happening here.)
Lastly, if you have an issue with the way things were run, I’d suggest you contact both CHA and offer your feedback, and then separately contact the vendors that you were dissatisfied with. Try to be constructive- everyone is learning and trying to make the Supershow a success for winter.
Thanks for your comment, Jenny
