I really had SUCH an amazing time in Melbourne Australia…. and part of the reason why is that there were so many artistic and crafty places there. Graffiti Alley, great architecture… and CRAFT STORES!
I made you this video- it’s almost 10 minutes long, so fair warning- but it includes photos of my trip and a video of my craft haul at the very end. I hope you enjoy it!
I hope you enjoyed this crafty field trip around Melbourne- and would love your questions or comments!

Those magazines are readily available at Barnes and Noble and sometimes some JOann stores. I used to have a subscription to Simply Cards but switched it out to a UK magazine when the local girl scout had a magazine drive to raise some money for camp. Lastly, the stop the color run (I don’t remember the name) there are several companies that make them. I bought mine at Meijer here in Michigan. I think Ohio has a few stores now, too.

Rit dye sells the color run remover in a large bottle! Works like a charm!! Great haul!

Love this video–thanks for sharing! Love to see what is new and exciting in other parts of our crafty world…My sister lives in the UK and she was all about getting the Smash book journal for her birthday this March…And I thought..wow, those were popular a long-long crafty time ago–found some in the mark-down section at Michaels! So it’s fun to see what people are interested in–and YES, Adult coloring books are very popular–I work at Michaels and people are always wanting to buy these items!

Jenny, When I was in Melbourne and other parts in Australia I had a hard time finding fabric. Sure wish I would have known about that Melbourne shop. I did find some finally but really limited. Great haul. Thanks for sharing.

Very enjoyable video. Looks like you had a great time (no, really?). Such interesting architecture. I had a chance to visit my daughter a few years ago when her husband did some consulting work in the UK. I bought a magazine there, mostly because there was a freebie in the wrapper, just like what you got in Melbourne. I wonder why the U.S. magazines don’t give the goodies. I subscribed to the UK magazine and really liked the majority of the monthly freebies. I live in Brooklyn, OH – are you aware of any paper outlets/manufacturers in our area that give their “discards” at a discount? Thanks. Love your blog. I just bought a set of the Faber-castell gel crayons, thanks to your review. They are so cool. Thanks again. Pardon the lengthy comment.

Hey there, Thanks for the video – I really enjoyed it. I live in Melbourne and there is alot to see and do art-wise. And I think we are spoiled for choice with magazines with our Aussie ones + ones from the UK – and I love to buy them because they have such awesome freebies. Our prices of art supplies can be a pretty high compared to overseas. I have a Kaisercraft outlet close to me which I really love. They only opened up the outlets around Melbourne in the last couple of years. I recognised Federation Square in your video: did you go into the National Gallery which is just a short walk away? My DD & I went there a few weeks ago and it was awesome (and free!).
