Comparison: BEST WHITE STAMP PAD

October 1, 2016

Here’s a common stamping dilemma- what is the BEST white stamp pad? Because sometimes you want a nice white stamped image on a dark background. So I tested 10 white stamp pads on black cardstock and I have the results here for you!

comparison of white stamp pads

Before we get to the video, I want to share my process. each stamp pad was new or nearly-new; I gathered my supplies from big-box stores and Amazon.com with the exception of the Stampin’ UP pad- normally I don’t focus on product that isn’t sold retail, but since you can buy it online without a home party, I decided to include it. I stamped all samples with the same stamp, which I cleaned with a wet wipe and dried in between each use to avoid contamination.

Also, I received the Delicata Stamp Pad and the Stampin’ UP pad for review purposes. However, you can clearly see that I gave each stamp pad a fair shake and my opinions are honest and my own, and based on my first-hand experience.

OK- here are the 10 brands I tried:

  • VersaMagic
  • VersaColor
  • Hero Hues Pigment
  • Hero Hues Dye
  • Ranger Distress
  • ColorBox
  • Avery Elle
  • Delicata
  • Simon Says Stamp
  • Stampin’ UP

And now for the video!

I just LOVE all three of these– which of these three do you use?

If you need some links to buy: (affiliate)

  • Avery Elle and Reinker (from Amazon)
  • Delicata (Amazon)
  • Stampin’ UP (from the website)

The Best White Stamp Pad

Thanks for watching- and I’d love to hear your thoughts!

You might want to try My Favorite Things pigment white called Sweet Tooth.

    Hi Jenny,
Yay! I do have the Stampin’ Up white craft pad and I love it! What a great video comparing all those inks. I was wondering how the other companies’ ink pads showed up and you have saved me a lot of expense. I will stick with what I have since it is so sharp and bright, and also gives me the option to emboss. By the way, I do shop through my friend who is a demonstrator when I buy SU, but you can order anonymously directly through their website if you’re not interested in going to a party. Thanks for showing us all those inks!

This post would have come in handy two weeks ago! Lol! I just finished a project where I stamped a ton of skylines in white on black paper. I started with ColorBox and it was runny and all around terrible. I also had Stazon and Hero Arts pigment pads on hand. I ended up using Hero Arts because I was afraid to use the Stazon with my Misti. I’m a big fan of Avery Elle products so I’ll definitely be adding that to my stash! Thanks!

Great comparison video. I have a couple of the “lesser” stamp pads and have pretty much avoided stamping on black, as it’s so disappointing. I will search out the Stampin up. Nice to have the larger surface. Thanks for your terrific unbiased videos. Great job.

I just followed your link to Stampin’ Up. The ink pad is listed at $8.00. Thought you should know! Also, what do you mean by “craft pad”? I have not heard that term before.

Minmimum shipping for stampin up is $6.95 or 10% whichever is more. The stamping up pad is very very smudgy and requires great care. It does not dry well. I have done some projects that just would not dry. I am not pleased with it for plain stamping but it is fine with embossing powder. I am an SU demo. This is my honest opinion after using it for more than 10 years. The Fun Stampers Journey pad is better – it is fusion ink.

I use Memento Luxe Wedding Dress (Pigment), and I’ve been very impressed. I’d love to see how it stacks up against your winners!

THANK YOU so much for this! I have had mostly disappointing whites, and now I know where to look. I appreciate your work here!
