Love this!! I believe I will do the same thing on our door in kitchen for stairs that lead downstairs to my studio. Currently I have a smaller sized chalkboard in a frame hanging on the door. But this keeps getting knocked into somehow and has fallen off so many times. Frankly, I’m tired of picking it up, lol. The old door, like yours has the deep molding trim. Currently the door is painted while, then black on molding, white stripe, then turquoise in center. I’ll be painting fresh coat on cabinets soon and have been trying to decide what to do about door. Thank you for the idea. I like the clean fresh look of yours. Oh, and if you have kiddos around then paint the bottom chalkboard too for a creative space for them. If not, I’d leave it as is. We painted the back of a cabinet we used as a room divider when the kids were small. Lots of hours of fun. Attached the basket of chalks to the back and instant party!! ;0)

That sounds amazing, no leaking under the tape!.
Personally I like it as it is now, in fact, I love it I wouldn’t paint the botton panel!

I was wondering if when you painted on the sealer, the paint dried the same as on the door itself. I thought it might show differently where you applied it.
Also, I might do the lower half if you have kids that would be using it. It could be designated just for them and the upper part for adults only.

Melinda- the sealer dries invisibly and did not change the color or sheen of the paint! WHOO HOO!

I love it! sadly, I live in an apt now, but will try the idea on some of my other items using the back. I like it just the way it is! Nice contrast.
