There was so much to look at this year at CHA this summer! As I walked the show floor I took mental notes of what made me, “oooh!” and, “Ahhh!” the most. There were lots of new, fabulous paper lines premiering that made my heart skip a beat as well as a few new crafty tools. Take a look below at what caught my eye and let me know what you think!
Spellbinders Majestic Elements Nestabilities– This was the winner of the innovation award this year at CHA and rightfully so! Spellbinders is already well known for their nestabilities and they stepped up their game in a BIG way with these majestic elements. These beauties die-cut and emboss, not to mention the ENDLESS possibilities you can create when combining different dies! Just look at all these dies can do!
Tim Holtz for Ranger Ink Distress Stickles Dry Glitter – I’m already in love with distress stickles; the glitter is wonderfully thick, variegated in size and looks like a vintage glass glitter. So, I was ecstatic to see that Tim is premiering distress stickles dry glitter! It has all of the wonderful qualities that distress stickles already have. And Tim even let a couple of us in on a little secret at CHA; you can dye your dry glitter with Ranger alcohol inks! How cool is that? I also like that this is in a LARGE container, three ounces (60 grams) total, for all of those larger projects!

October Afternoon “Midway” Collection – I fell in love with this paper release and embellishments as soon as I saw it at CHA! It reminds me of funny, happy times that my family and I would spend at Coney Island in New York in the summers. I think it was made just for memories like this! I especially loved the polka-dotted alpha’s and the great diverse line of papers!
Pink Paislee Artisan Collection – Sometimes (ok, a lot of the time) I get overwhelmed by finding, “just the right paper” or embellishment in my studio. I *almost* miss the old days, before electronic die-cutters, when I used to sit and trace and X-ACTO knife out titles and flourishes. This is why I’m LOVING the Pink Paislee artisan collection! This is a completely customizable system of elegant embellishments and papers. I love that you have complete creative control over your project and that it will be one of a kind!
Heidi Swapp Color Shine Spritz – I was so excited when I saw these being released at CHA! When I picked them up, my scrappy little heart skipped a beat; I heard a “shakey-shakey” sound inside the bottle! This tells me these are going to be of great quality and consistent color AND shine! What I love even more is that these are what I call classic, “Heidi Colors;” Bright and vibrant shades of pink and greens and teals and shiny metallics! Can you imagine combining these fabulous sprays with the Pink Paislee Artisan collection above or one of my pick’s from CHA last year Heidi Swapp’s color wonder!
Here’s fellow craft test dummy Haley, getting her Color Shine on at the Heidi Swapp booth at Summer CHA!
BONUS PICK – Some Odd Girl Stamps – When I saw this booth at CHA I went, “Oh! How trendy!” With the influx of manga, anime and hand tinting and coloring images in the crafting industry I think these fabulous stamp sets are going to be so popular! My most favorite was an almost paper doll stamp set that you could piece different outfits together for your little odd girl. Not to mention, there are separate, seasonal sets that you can mix, match and add to the core set. How spiffy are these!?!?
