Another confession: I hoard fabric scraps. Sometimes is the color, sometimes it’s the texture, sometimes it’s just that it’s a bit of a piece of clothing or reminds me of something I can’t let go of yet. So I hold on to a ton of fabric scraps!
Today, I have a ton of great ideas for using up fabric scraps- some from me, but a bunch from other talented crafters/bloggers/designers. SO many great ideas here!
So…now are you inspired?
OH! And if you need ideas for using up your paper scraps, see my round of up those here.

I have lots and lots of paper scraps. I love the idea for old ties. My children love to use paper and fabric scraps for whatever they want, and I love it! One can never have enough scraps–whether it be paper or fabric.

OMG this is too cool! You have no idea how many pair of my kids’ jeans I have hoarded with holes in the knees that can’t be patched and I just can’t bring myself to toss them! And let’s not even talk about the fabric scraps, they’re giving the paper scraps a run for their money!
Now, I love that rag rug and I’m game to try it for my new kitchen carpet, but I wonder how something like calico scraps would hold up as compared to the jersey of the t-shirts? I’ve had rag rugs that didn’t hold up so well and I’d like to avoid that again.

Hmmm…I want to pin this but I can’t!

Hi – I am the same way …. Saving fabric because it looks or feels so great for SOMETHING!! I love the idea of making the flowers out of fabrics for hair bows and clothing and pillows! Oh, the knitted shopping tote from old t-shirts – I want to do that! Thanks!

I lost all my beautiful scraps last year, years worth. The basement flooded, and that is where my old craft room was! I have very few pieces & lost all my big fabric pieces too. 🙁 I would absolutely love a donation to help me get that supply back again! Thanks so much for the ideas, would love to try some of them.
Thanks,
Erin Rutkowski

I really like the link on how to make tshirt yarn, I’ve wonder how one does that. But that project does not help me use up my fabric scraps.

Hi, Thanks for the ideas. I save all the larger fabric offcuts from clothing I made my grandchildren but never reuse them. There are PLENTY of offcuts too small to make into anything useful. I always think they will come in handy one day so your ideas have given me inspiration to finally do something with my ever-growing box of scrap fabric.
Thanks also for your link to the paperscraps too.

You mean i’m NOT alone in hoarding fabric scraps!?!?!? YEAHHH!!!
I like these ideas and I LOVE the idea of the bracelet BUT edited to help some of my tote bag shoulder straps. They seem so cheesy/flimsy and doing a braid using scraps would certainly beef them up, add more cushion to them and even ‘decorate’ them just a bit more.
-thanks for sharing the info!
