Which is to say, I joined the Cricut Circle. What is that, you say? Well, it’s a new club- supposedly exclusive- that will offer benefits such as free cartridges, invites to swarms and galas, chances to get sneak peeks and before-market access, and a spiffy charm bracelet. (Yeah, I know, right?) The thing is, I’m not sure I NEEDED to join. The cost of the club is comparable to buying a new Cricut Expression or 4 full-price cartridges. And, while […]

Craft Product Review: Cricut Lite Cartridges by Lisa Falduto
So, sometimes life takes you down detours and you meet fabulous folks along the way who become friends for life! Such is the case with my favorite paper crafts designer, Lisa Falduto of PaperFashionsBoutique.com! I met Lisa a year ago by chance when we were both demo-ing the Cricut as a part of the Costco Roadshows run by Provocraft. Lisa and I both did a show in Grafton, WI, and spent the better part of a week working side-by-side. Trust […]
Knitting Looms and Jury Duty
Last week was quiet here on CTD, because your crafty friend was called up for…JURY DUTY! I can hear the collective groans from you readers, but really, I didn’t mind too much. First of all, I believe in our judicial system and my civic and moral obligation to serve. The other reason I didn’t mind so much was that I knew that I could catch up on my crafting with all that waiting around! So after a quick think about […]
Patriotic Earrings
Need some fun, quick earrings to wear on Independence Day? I designed these for CraftsUnleashed as member of their design team, and I wanted to share them with you as well. Memorial Day feels like it was just yesterday, and Independence Day is right around the corner. What could be better to wear on the 4th of July than little sparkly star earrings that show your patriotism? You can whip these up in a snap- and they are so inexpensive, […]
Xyron Creatopia Craft Product Review
…is up at CraftCritique.com! One of the reasons why you just HAVE to love CraftCritique is because sometimes they get multiple reviewers trying out the same product. It’s really a great service to hear from many different folks with different skill sets and perspectives trying out a crafty tool. So I got to try out the Xyron Creatopia. Despite it’s winning points on having an uber-cool name, I was only impressed with 2 out of the three functions it has. […]
Inside the World of Craft Test Dummies
So, I usually just go about my daily business of playing with awesome arts & craft supplies, working my social media business, and checking out awesome crafters- usually in my own little craftilicious vaccuum. But recently, a colleague from CraftsUnleashed, Alyice Edrich, asked to interview me for another blog she writes for- the Empty Easel. Hmm. What is so interesting about what I do? But then, as I read her well-crafted questions, I realized that what I do IS pretty […]

Head over to check it out! Now, while I’m at it, I also have to put a plug in for […]
Crafty Baby Gifts: Dyed Onesies/Snapsuits with Attitude
There is a small baby boom in my corner of the world, and this week I’m going to share the gifts I make to bestow on all the new little princes and princesses! Cathie Filian wrote a whole book (101 Snappy Fashions) on upcycling baby Onesies/snapsuits- but this version wasn’t in the book. (go figure!) So today I’m sharing MY version of Tie-Dye Onesies/Snapsuits. Except that it’s not really tie-dye, it’s much neater and easier– it’s Simply Spray! (Review coming […]
Crafty Baby Gifts: Personalized Snap-Suits with Shiva Paintstiks
There has been a small baby boom in my world, and I’ve got lots of little princes and princesses to make baby gifts for. This week I’m going to share some of my favorite baby gift crafts with you. First up: Shiva Paintstik baby snap-suits (onsies!) So…..I love Shiva Paintstiks! I’ve had my set for years now, and I pull them out again and again when working with fabric. They are SO easy to apply, are low on the mess-ometer, […]
Mod Podge BooBoo Box, Part Two!
OK, so I decided to share my “original” Boo Boo Box- the one I made about 5 years ago when my little guy was still little! This one isn’t as fancy as the one I shared yesterday, but it gave me the idea. The “Original” was made from mostly recycled materials- a cardboard box that I salvaged was decoupaged with left-over Christmas tissue paper. I then sponge-painted some gold paint & drew over it with a silver Sharpie to make […]
How-To: Mod Podged “Boo-Boo Box”
Here’s a sweet little decoupage craft that is right in time for the summer- after all, summer at our house means bike rides, sports, outdoor play…and boo-boos! You can use any cardboard box you might have saved from the trash or a paper mache purse from the craft store. Everyone needs a boo-boo box at hand for little emergencies! So, here’s what I did: I took some pretty scrapbook paper and cut the following: 2 pieces for the top and […]
Thrifting Finds!
Over the past two weeks I got to go to some great yard & estate sales– and looky at what I got! …and lastly I got some amazing resin urns…but they are already outside hosting my geraniums. Now, I have some ideas for the pins- I think they would make great hair fascinators….but those doll parts…hmm… should I actually make the dolls or just display the parts?? What would you do?
Go Vote For Your Fave in the Memory Frame Showdown!
Remember this “Star” Memory Frame I made for CraftsUnleashed.com? Well, they’re having a friendly little challenge over there, called the Memory Frame Showdown. My frame is “competing” against 3 other designers…but I tell you, the winner is YOU! The “winner” of the challenge gets bragging rights, but one lucky commenter will win a box of memory frames, scrapbook stacks, and Mod Podge so they can make one of their own. Cool, right?? So click HERE to head one over to […]
Memory Frame Craft up on CraftsUnleashed
We’re doing a little “grads and dads” memory frame challenge on CraftsUnleashed, and I have to confess I was stumped on this for a while. Of course, my inclination was to make something for my husband from the kiddos, since Father’s Day is right around the corner. But then I realized that no one was working on a grad frame, and it would be fun to see one of those. One problem: I don’t know any high-school or college grads!!! […]
