After a week of sitting on my hands and biting my tongue, I am happy to announce that I’ve partnered up with Craft Critique as one of their reporters! I’ll be reviewing some craft products for them and publishing my articles on their blog. Never fear, I’ll still be doin’ my own thing over here at Craft Test Dummies… I have plenty of products to review, crafty goodness to share, and singin’ the praises of other faboo-crafters. When I do […]
Perhaps you can tell that I like shimmer. And I like paint. And I’m a real sucker for shimmery paint. Ergo, I’m a mad fool for Luminarte’s Radiant Rain shimmering mist. Sold either in 4 oz spray bottles or daubers, these are basically liquid versions of their Twinkling H2O’s (the colors even coordinate.) What I like about the spray versions is that the colors are not hyper-saturated, but have some opacity to them. And when they dry, you get the […]
I just finished my second paper doll design for Stamplistic…and since spring is almost upon us, I went with a flower fairie theme. I’m using an Accu-Cut die and materials available at the store. Sorry, but I can’t give you more specifics…the store will, however, be making up kits to purchase sometime in the near future. But you get a sneak peek!
Just an update- I’ve changed my Twitter ID to CraftTestDummy, so I’m easy to find. I send tweets about sales, works in progress, and my crafty view on life. Signing up for Twitter is free, and if you haven’t “tweeted” yet, try it out!
The Craft Gods keep sending me button goodness to share….must be some kinds of harmonic convergence in the crafty universe! I got online today and found this FAB-U-LOUS button coaster craft at CraftStylish for a button coaster. Wow! I LOVE the way it looks, and you could create all kinds of designs if you used different colors of embroidery threads and/or different colors of buttons. Just make sure they are of a uniforms size and you can get really creative […]
I love buttons- both the functional, keep-your-sweater-closed variety, as well as purely decorative/design elements. Yup. Love buttons! So, since it’s National Craft Month in March I thought I’d share a few resources with you! Make a cute button-covered tote…I reposted it from Martha Stewart a while back. Great way to use up those funky buttons in the button jar and spruce up that boring market tote! CraftStylish offers step-by-step instructions on making a button bracelet– you need shank buttons for […]
Last Saturday we had a GREAT Polymer Clay 101 class at Grand River Beads (check out their website for their calendar.) We had 6 enthusiastic participants, and we covered the following: brands of clays and their properties prepping clay texturizing release agents application of pigments tools curing ….and some of my own little tips! We jammed a lot into the 3 hours, and I wanted to share what I made as samples… I made the hearts to demonstrate texturizing clay…. […]
